Guest guest
How do you know if your dose is the proper dose, I have a feeling our DAN gave us a really low dose.. We have seen some die off, only in poop, but nothing major enough to give charcoal yet...and we have had some improved language and eye contact from our son who isnt verbal yet....so thats good.. However, both boys weigh 45lbs (3.5 yrs old and 4.5 yrs old) and both were given a once daily dose of 1.25 mls at 40mg...... I feel from what I have read its pretty low? Anyone else thinks that this could cause it to be ineffective in the longer run? That the yeast could build up a resistance must faster this way? Any suggestions? I am giving the boys a week on this dose and then going to call the DAN and request an increase I think... Thoughts? Guest guest
The Valtrex dose seems pretty high for a 4 year old. How much does the child weigh? Also, most kids need to stay on a systemic fungal med (Diflucan) for the duration of their Valtrex treatment or yeast will spiral out of control. Not sure many have success with Nystatin while doing antivirals. Hopefully some of the more seasoned mommys can comment on this as well. I am alittle nervous about the Valtrex, he will be on 500 mg 2x/day for 1 week and then 500 mg 3x/day. I look at these pills and say can my 4 year old handle these dosages???? Of course my DAN doctor is saying that they are completely safe but I am still very nervous!!!! Any words of encouragement???> > __________________________________________________>

Guest guest
I haven't had my son's prescription filled yet, but I was thinking it was going to be pill form that I smash up, mix with water/juice and give in a syringe. to avoid all the flavorings/unnecessary ingredients...anyone else done this?
