Becky

My son sounds a lot like yours, the only difference is 43lbs and my

son is verbal (though only just beginning of conversational). My son

was non-verbal and what brought out the language was first removing

casien and gluten (starting saying 1 - 3 words in a matter of

months), then chelation (brought out lots of language) and Verbal

Behavior Therapy - a better form, IMO, of ABA. Have you tried any of

the above? There's still behaviors but I think having a way to

express at least some of what's bothering him has greatly reduced the

amount and frequency and is probably what's saving me from having to

make the placement decisions at least for now.

13yo, 140 lb., 5' 4 " son's aggressive behavior at home. We know that

we may have to place him somewhere, but we are postponing it as long

as possible, and hopefully will not be necessary. Are there short

term residential or a 24/7 behavioral crisis line you can call for

assistance? We do have that here in Indiana. Good wishes and my

prayers will be with you.
