Guest guest
Hi My son (12) has begun to have night terrors. They seem to involve the situation he was in at his old school, where he was often restrained and secluded in a little " cool down " closet. He has not attended the school for over a year, the nigthmares are new. I think they came about because of the increased stress of the much needed orthodontic work. (braces, headgear, tonsils out) it all has him in a tizzy. (very understandably) His obsessiveness and time and money spent on collections has also greatly increased too. The night terrors really frighten me though. He will cry, yell, tear through his room, he will grab people and twist their arm behind their back and yell at them that he wont let go til they stop moving completely. He will pace around his room in a very agitated manner. He will pound on doors and cry to be let out of the room (the doors are not locked, or even shut for that fact!) Its all things he is " reliving " I have talked to his psych and will again on MOnday. He is in counseling, not on meds, is on supplements. We have tried relaxing things before bedtime,,,warm bath, epsom salts, tea, classical music. Its all been no help. Any ideas because im really worried.
