Guest guest
, where are you? I forgot... To: Sent: Monday, November 24, 2008 4:26:23 PMSubject: Spreading the Word Group, I was able to talk a local paper into running a 3 part op-ed written by me discussing the failure of primary care and what we can do about it. This is the first article which ran 11/15/08. I will send the second (which ran yesterday) and the third (running next Sunday) as soon as I get the pdf. Of note, apparently the only way to read the op-eds on line is to pay a subscription fee (bummer). In any case, I am stirring the pot in this area. Guest guest
You are up way too early Brady:) Weird. There are local docs who say they are going to hang it in their waiting rooms. There is one lady who states she is in love with me and wants to come to my office and hug me (I gave her Jean's number). There are others who were downright well scary (we'll just call them the anarchists). All kinds of different views from all kinds of different people. I just hope it helps to open up the conversation. -- If you are a patient please allow up to 12 hours for a reply by email/please note the new email address.Remember that e-mail may not be entirely secure/ MD ph fax

Guest guest
Great writing, . I can't wait to see the 3rd part. Smiley Thankur's article seems to hit on a lot of the same points, though it's unusual to see a specialist complaining about insurance reimbursement. It's probably because he isn't procedurally oriented, though I assume he may do biopsies. As Graham pointed out many of the comments to Smiley are extremely negative and demonstrate that a lot of washingtonians who take the time to blog don't understand the difference in income between specialties in the US. Guest guest
Leigh, When I get the third one on pdf, I will post all 3 to my web site so you can hopefully get them there. The third one was supposed to be in the paper today. I’ll get it later tonight (as I just got back in town) and be in touch with the editor probably tomorrow or Tuesday to see what the pulse of the community was. I’ll keep everyone posted. Re: Spreading the Word hey john, i'm unable to read your article bc it says, as it always says, " attachment not stored. " it's a dead link. can you post a live link to the paper or save the pdf in google docs or something? or in the files to the left of us here? leigh
