Ok.... I have to ask this ( and you know I love ya Carol!) but how is this any different from the school using restraints? Personally I wouldn't do any of those things to , but would make the time to make sure she *learned* how to behave in an age appropriate manner with out resorting to restraints, both at home, or out in public. This give you an idea of what they look like. Walmart, and Target have them.

Mine does not have the table . The one I have attaches to the chair , and you can

slide it to the table so they feel like they are sitting like big kids.

Mine restrain to the chair so it won't fall and will restrain the child so they don't

fall out. Amber will buckle herself in, She has not figured out how to undo

it which is nice . When she learns that then I am in trouble..

I homeschool three of my kids but not Nicolas (DS) at this point. I do think about it at times and my thoughts are going that way again. But the reason it didn't work before was I just couldn't keep him constructively occupied when I worked with my other kids. The oldest is pretty independent but the middle two have learning disabilities themselves and so take some time. Nicolas just doesn't sit for seatwork long, and when I work with the other kids, he will be creating mayhem, getting into things. It has been so hard for him to find toys that he will engage with, other than Mr. Potato Head.As someone mentioned, it almost seems easier to me to homeschool than to battle the school for everything but I would have to at least get my oldest son working more independently. It still seems a long way in the future!a____________ _________ _________ _________

The difference is that she is in the chair because she wants to be.

Not because it is forced on her.

Most times she asks me to buckle it.

And is not happy until I do.

I have used it in times where she will not stay out of trouble and I have to do it

to keep her in one spot.

But I am in control of how long she is in the chair. Which is not long.

If she was at school I would have no idea how long they would keep her

in the chair. And I love her.

I don't know if they would have the same love for her I do.

There are times when I can not control her. Or she will not sit still for me.

That is the main reason I do not want to send her to school.

I don't consider what I have restraints any way it is like a safety buckle for the chair.
