Guest guest
Ok, so we had the Organic Acid Test done in January of this year, right around the time we had just " fully " committed to the GFCF diet, and right before starting any supplements. My son's arabinose level was almost 1,400!! The reference range for arabinose (yeast indicator) is 0-45. I called Great Plains, who said my kid was " loaded " and that it may take years to get these numbers down. They actually said that my son would be in their " hall of fame " with his arabinose levels. My son used to eat tons of suckers, drink lots of juice and had a limited diet. For the past 5 1/2 mos. I have been cutting out most all sugar, reduced fruit, pushed lots of water and watched his portions. However, I never cut out the grains/carbs which scared me and made me think we may eventually have to do the SCD. We did do ketaconazole for 30 days and have done Threelac off and on and also do a nightly probiotic. About 3 wks. ago, we did another Organic Acid Test to see what progress we had made. I was thinking anything would be better than 1,400....To my astonishment today, we found out that his arabinose level was at 51. WHAT??? I know yeast can come and go, so I am definitely not letting my guard down. But does this sound accurate?? Great Plains said it could take years!!
