Guest guest
I am in the country so I have lots of guests in the yard. There is a place in the cities, Internet, that sells a black 1 " square light plastic material that I use for fencing. It comes in 12' width and I had them cut it to 4' for use in the garden. I use the steel electric fence posts to support it. It is floppy and not rigid and the deer do not cross it. You can roll the fencing back up in the fall when you are done and it stores easily. I bought mine about 6-7 years ago. The racoons may tear a hole in it but it works well for rabbits and woodchucks. I also need to keep my chickens out of the garden or they will eat the veggies. Otherwise the only recourse I have read about is to mark your territory. June
Guest guest
The thing we did that worked the best was to take the foil pie tins you buy at the store or come with frozen pie crusts and poke a hole in the rim. Tie a string to the tin and then tie that to any fence posts and some poles you place through out the garden. These flicker in the moon light, move with any wind and if they brush against them. This worked well for us. Another thing we did was make a dummy and placed " Charlie " in a chair in the garden or near the garden. This works pretty well too if ya move him every other day or so. We tried the thing of leavening human hair around but that not work at all for us. The guys did some " marking " around the garden and that helped some. But you need to live some where that no one can see them do it!! LOL. All in all, the pie tins worked the best.
