Guest guest
> Most people do not understand autism. I have found that even though many people are religious, they still may not be accepting individuals, and they may not see that God made everyone differently for a purpose. yes to teach them the value of all life, too bad many NT's don't seem to care about that (although they like to say they do) makes them feel special LOL I know I am not funny but sometimes you just have to laugh
Guest guest
" When i asked the christian children what Easter was about they said the Easter Bunny and chocolate. Needless to say i was feeling foolish and depressed by the end of the day, as well as beaten. It drives me crazy that there is no appreciation for anything. reading about it here brings tremdous comfort. That and today there is finally some sunlight. " I think if people are going to proclaim themselves of a faith, they ought to be familiar with the tenets and observances of that faith. This includes children. Guest guest
" As I was reading I anticipated Cub's actions, agreed with and have said the same thing about your reaction, and as a result avoid pinata's. By the way on Sat there was a Bunny Pinata. We fed animals at a farm A calf, live bunnys, goats, and pigs. We pet the barn cats and got to see what each type of aminal preferes to eat while all the other children fought over a pinata filled with cheap candies and toys. Funny story Raven and well done Cub. Mimi " Given the choice, I would have taken the animals over the pinata any day, either as a child or an adult. Administrator

Guest guest
" That was me as well, but bu 12 the adults were boring too, so i would wander off on my own to explore when the weather was good. I was thrilled to go alone and just look at all the stuff people pass by and never see " My aunts and uncles all lived in towns, but if there was an outdoor party going on, and if the adults got boring, I would go behind the garage, lie down on the grass, and pretend I was in the middle of nowehere, like on a grassy prairie. Sooner or later a frisbee would fly back where I was and someone would interrupt my solitude though. Administrator

Guest guest
Hi Randy, welcome to the forum. I have a lot of problems with socializing (I was diagnosed with Aspergers in 2005 also September) and don't fare too well in social settings; although I have found online and with other aspies somewhat easier. Writing is my preferred mode of communication, as opposed to verbal. I have had some bad experiences with churches when younger, which for a long time sadly put me off Christianity to the point of being quite agaisnt it. Fortunately not so the case now :-) Oh and you've not spoiled my holiday, I am glad to see you here. Holidays are difficult for me anyway due to the change in usual routine, made worse this morning when I couldn't get online :-( Finally managed to though, as you can see :-) > > Hi, I'm new here (but not a newbie to the List Servers). I sure do miss that place of solitutude but my home is ok when everyone is away, at least for awhile. Kim
