Guest guest
Thank you for the tips on states with better services. We have our plan to move within the next 2 years. I will be pulling my son out of all day public school, 1st grade sometime in April. I have done everything humanly possible to get them to stop reinforcing undesirable behaviors. My son talks in full sentences all the time at home with little to no prompts. At school he is off in his head repeating tapes or PC games and barely speaks a word. I have gone as far as even paying to have his personal aid trained by our behavioral therapist, worked with the aid myself and have passed on videos and books galore. She is a wonderful lady but just can't seem to grasp how to work with my child so that he makes progress and does not undo all the hard work I do with him at home. I lose my son 7 precious, valuable hours a day 5 days a week. We have given them over a year now, countless meetings with little to no change at all. I am a bit overwhelmed in where to start on setting up a full home schooling program. Can any of you help me? I know I need to follow the requirements for the state but how do I also do ABA sessions with him during the day? I want to get very organized and on track preparing for this. Right now I feel directionless. We do sessions together all the time but now I have to add a full school day to our schedule. Any information or direction to information would be so very helpful. I know this is the very best thing to do for my son. I just want to do it right.
