Guest guest
My son is 3.10yrs doing an ABA/VB home program. He understands so much more than a year ago but there are a few things that have me stumped on how to teach him. Seems like there should be a program to target each issue. Like Negation, but in the Work in Progress Book it doesn't cover can't or won't. Things he doesn't understand: (These lead to tantrumming because he manded for all these things, but I just couldn't explain why the answer was no.) 1. It's closed today. The library is not open. We can't go in. All he knew was every other time we've been to the library he's been able to go inside. I was just Mean Mommy and I couldn't explain why. That is SO frustrating for me. 2. I don't have any juice. It's at home. Do you want some water? His answer was " NO! I want juice! " I couldn't get through to him that I didn't have any. It was at home, or in the car or whatever. 3. He mands for his Book while I'm driving. I respond that the Book was at our house. The Book was at Logan's house, was at home, etc. It's not in the van. Any suggestions? Thanks Angie G, Logan's mom.
