Guest guest
My 4 year-old NT child did this. He said it didn't hurt but I know he did it for the shock value (he likes to freak people out). He doesn't seem to do it anymore (on to bigger and freakier things, I guess). However my 6 year-old ASD son toe-walks/runs so I would also be interested in techniques to reduce this. Boots seem to help (as long as they are heavy and not flexible at the ankle). We haven't tried high-back running shoes as he can get his own running shoes on with the help of velcro. Right now the independence is more important than the toe-walking but I will have to address this soon. Debbie [ ] Toe-walking Okay, one more. Kenny walks on his toes whenever he's not wearing shoes. He curls his toes underneath, and it looks horribly painful. Any ideas on what I can do about this (short of keeping him in shoes all the time)? Thanks, Diane List moderators: Jenn - ABAqueen1@...
