Now, THAT is a funny question. I wonder how many of us just laughed. I sure

did.But I'll go out on a limb and reply!On a " personal "

level, the answer is clear. Alcohol is safer since I won't lose my license as long

as I use it safely! Not even a question. Now, on a

" professional " level, I'm not sure. Seems more patients " used

to smoke pot " and have given it up after about college. Those who use it after

about age 22, often (but not always) seem to maintain quiet lives and describe use

in the evenings. On the other hand, it seems a much greater number of folks

who continue drinking a good deal after about age 22 have bigger problems with

family/marriage/work. So, I do wonder what has a more negative effect on

personal lives.I'll also offer (but not further debate) that I support

decriminalization of marijuana but not legalization. New York has had tough

marijuana laws for almost 40 yrs ( " Rockefeller laws " ) and a lot of folks

have served a good deal of time for relatively mild offenses related to

marijuana. In total, I don't think that has served the public good. TimOn Thu, December
