Guest guest
I've posted here before about my TN School System threatening me with an illegal evaluation by an LRP hired gun. In a prior meeting I was told by our Director of Special Ed. that they were not requesting, did not want or need my consent for this evaluation and that they were going to do it. LRP hired gun has done a presentation on " How to Avoid, Avert & Win Due Process Hearings against Parents doing a Home ABA Program. " I gave them a very legal sounding letter stating that this was a clear violation and that they could not do this without legal ramifications. Today was my IEP meeting and I put their feet to the fire as to where we stood with this Evaluation of my son and they said that it was moot since we did not reach an agreement, but finally confessed that her " team " had full access to my son for evaluation and all of his records under the guise of a " Full Program Evaluation " . This alone is bad enough, but it gets worse, because my child is not the only child subjected to this. They made it clear today, on tape, that they were doing this " for " all of the children in the County. Other parents have no idea that this is going on and they say that they can do it because they have contracted with these people and therefore, what they are doing in legal and that they do not need to inform the other parents or ask for their consent. If anyone has anything to offer on this subject please E-mail me ASAP. I can't sit on this one for long. These children are too precious as we all know. Your opinions have been of so much value to me in doing our home VB/ABA program and your opinions are requested now more than ever. I plan to cross-post so I appologize if you get this in another form of posting. Thank you for hearing me and for your continued support. Most Sincerely, Cyndy Davenport Parent to 3 1/2 yr old with Autism Advocate and Parent-Educator to Many in our County P.S.> It's Sumner County, Tennessee. P.S.S.> If you received this message outside of the e-list groups, I value your opinion and would like to know what you think.
