Hi Listmates:

We need help teaching categories. Does a child need to know, for

example, " dog " is an " animal " as an IV or can you just teach categories as

categories with tacts that the student has? For example: put the cards

(tacts that child has) on the table and say " name some animals " and continue

to fade the cards as prompts.

Right now we're making sure Jer has the RFFC/IV of the category before

we expect him to know it in a " list " . We are using the cards as prompts when

he has to list but he does have a hard time with this. I don't know if it

because he is not ready for this skill right now or are we just teaching it

incorrectly.
