Guest guest
Jennie, to view the video on my computer, I first downloaded QuickTime, then the movie. Did you click the right arrow on the bottom left of the screen to click play? Did you get the whole window where the movie is supposed to play? For those of you who could view it, notice in the beginning of the movie that Evy had a great natural echoic---those words we'd hear once and then they'd disappear. If only I had known how to capture that back then... What progress he would have made--1 1/2 years lost. I also inadvertently extinguished the wonderful " Bye bye " that he said in the beginning. He was using it to get off the man's lap, but it wasn't consistently reinforced, so it fled. How much regression is our inability to communicate with them by not understanding or giving the consequences consistently? Nevertheless, I think we'll catch up all the way. My littlest, Ethan--had a much weaker echoic, poor muscle tone and facial tone, TERRIBLE eye contact and lousy imitation skills. But with the echo, mand, tact transfer, he's not that far language delayed at 2 years old. And he's 2 to 3X as advanced as my more social child, Evy, was at that age. Compare receptive and expressive scores at 2 years old: 3-6 months (Evy) and 13-15 months (Ethan). He's using phrases! Well, I am most excited about video #2. I have some wonderful things planned. #2 will be very specific and educational--less home movie and more instructional. I am working hard to put some useful product on my new website. I am going to put the pinstriping tape (to make lines on the white boards)and some data collection stickers (to slap on the back of picture cards for easy data collection, or to reuse cards for a subsequent child) for sale on the future website in the next month. So if anyone is interested, email me. Jennie, I love and admire your devotion to your Isaac. (I'm devoted to my Isaac too--my oldest--age 7). Good luck with watching the video. See if the sequence that I described above works. Maybe the QuickTime you downloaded didn't get completely installed or downloaded? Any computer experts out there? t Burk, Professional Mom pentaburks@...
