Guest guest
Hello friends, Some of my friends have noted difficulty linking to the video. Please try this link http://66.66.184.130/ and click on Evvy (sic). If you have high speed internet access (a la Roadrunner), you can watch in real time. The rest of us slobs might want to download it while we are eating supper. I am told that the computer version won't allow you to read the text on the screen--it is too small to save memory. So you'll miss informative captions like " Capturing teaching moments--simple chores " and my favorite " Evy recognizes numbers but is mildly obsessed with the number 6 " . Also missed is the caption " NET training--Teaching 'dress' and 'skirt', to name one more. " With the help of my amazing brother-in-law and production manager, Dennis, I can offer a copy of the video for $12.95 plus $2.05 shipping and handling in the continental U.S. and $6.00 to the U.K. I would like to have an estimate how many to produce for Dennis' sake. So anyone who wants one, please let me know ASAP and I should have them to you by 2 weeks (U.S.) and 3-4 weeks (U.K. and beyond). Anyone outside the U.S. or U.K., please email me so I can figure out how much shipping will cost. I am planning a sequel to focus on curriculum oriented games and the echo-mand-tact transfer for very early learners. In addition, I'll include a tutorial of my data system and more specifics on my white board system for people who would rather teach than fill out forms. If you would like to be put on a waiting list for video #2, please email me. Thanks! t Burk, Professional Mom pentaburks@...
Guest guest
keep getting message " get plug in " what plug in is needed? -- Evy's progress toward recovery Hi friends, I recently made a movie to show a school district who are deciding my son's educational placement. As far as the school district is concerned, I am presenting them a movie I made about Evy's current therapy, his current strengths and weaknesses. As an aside, I offered copies to some friends on another list, as well as putting the movie up for free viewing on a website www.autismteachingtools.com . I don't what the response from the district will be, but please feel free to watch the movie on the website or send me an order form and I'll mail you a copy. You must download QuickTime and be prepared to wait a long time for the movie to download (it is 22 minutes long). There is a link for QuickTime on the website. Unfortunately, the really helpful captions describing what's going on aren't visible in the computer version. You miss things like " Capturing teaching moments--simple chores " , " Evy loses focus easily in the middle of tasks " , and " Evy needs assistance when playing with peers. " My favorite is " Evy recognizes numbers, but is mildly obsessed with the number six. " Some people have commented that they like my toy room organization, and the white board visual cue system I use to be able to teach Evy's new skills in the natural environment. (Note my white board is a modification of a verbal behavior tool). Others have found it helpful to see what it's like to teach an autistic child in the natural environment at home. Anyhow, feel free to look at what I've put together. I'll be making more videos in the future (see my order form for details).
