Guest guest
Hello all, For those of you I contacted about Gutstein's intensive training and assemsment for Relationship Development Intervention we all know how costly it was to have him and his assocaites set up fort here for a few weeks. The other alternative I wanted to " throw out there " was to send an interested indivudal (professional) who wanted to become RDI certified so they can specifically service us here in the New York Area (Nassau Suffolk Queens etc)..though there is no one here on the northeast coast at all. SO the need is actually bigger than just the New York Area. Anyway, Getting a porfessional out there would take about (2) 5 day commitments (you would have to choose and commit from the following dates , where you would be flown into houston to attend the workshops) Here are the 2 dates for the Beginning Professional Training Course of the RDI Provider Certification Program Feb 12 - 15, 2003 [9:00am - 4:30pm Wed - Fri, and 9:00am - 12:00pm Sat] OR Feb 26 - Mar 1, 2003 [9:00am - 4:30pm Wed - Fri, and 9:00am - 12:00pm Sat] THEN the second series is : Advanced Professional Training Course for the RDI Provider Certification Program Mar 12 - 15, 2003 [9:00am - 4:30pm Wed - Fri, and 9:00am - 12:00pm Sat] OR Jun 11 - 14, 2003 [9:00am - 4:30pm Wed - Fri, and 9:00am - 12:00pm Sat] We would also have to sponsor the 6 month on going support with Dr gutstein (this can all be done via video tape and mailing) Also here is some more information of what your commitment would be: Evaluators: RDA administrators should have a sufficient degree of clinical judgment to make the types of on-the-spot decisions that administration requires. Training for administration should include the following: Careful reading and review of Dr. Gutstein's book, Autism/Aspergers: Solving the Relationship Puzzle. Review and rehearsal of administration, with particular attention given to age and developmental modifications, as well as decisions that may need to be made during the course of the administration such as, appropriateness of task, where to begin, where to stop, motor skills, instructing Coaches and managing difficult behavior. Instruction in setting up each activity, including physical positioning for each activity, for uniformity and videotaping. Instruction and practice in relevant note taking. A period of time spent in observation of typical relationship development at different ages. Administrators should be videotaped over their first few administrations and carefully supervised. Certified Evaluators: Those clinicians wishing to be certified by Connections Center to perform evaluations using the RDA will need to complete the certification process. This includes: A beginning and advanced training seminar on the RDA and RDI (Relationship Development Intervention) offered by Connections Center. Supervision for a minimum of six months, available via videotape consultation through Connections Center. SO with all this said. If you would be interested in commiting yourself to the above and are seriously interested in becomeing an RDA assessor, PLEASE email me. Once I get a feel for the interest I will then have an application to fill out before we would grant a scholarship. email me directly to: elija@... Thanks!
