Guest guest
Hi All- I was wondering if anyone had ideas, or better yet, success stories, on how to observe Autism Awareness Month in an elementary school (K-4) setting. The school has an Autism Support Classroom which, aside from providing an excellent learning environment for our children with Autism, has made great strides in dispelling myths and fostering acceptance among the regular education students. We, as parents, teachers and therapists would like to take it a step further and organize a school-wide event that would focus community attention on our cause and our successes to date. We would like to involve the entire student population (300 children) in the planning and execution of the event, scheduled for sometime in April. We are currently brainstorming and would appreciate any suggestions, ideas, advice etc. Thanks in advance, Tara McHale
