That is so sad Loriann! We have much to be grateful for! Still praying and

keep us updated?

and ,

I just got that same series of photos from another friend. I have just got

to believe that someone " doctored " it up. It is scary and makes me think

I'll have nightmares from it. Besides not having answers to the evil that

just happened we also don't have answers to when the world will end. I guess

we all now can prepare ourselves. BE READY. Keep your lanterns full of oil

and know that anything goes in the world at any moment. This is not meant to

scare anyone, but for all of us to get our priorities straight in life. It's

certainly a wake up call at my house.

I love all of you, your families, your words of support and encouragement!

You are an extended family to me - strong women (and men) that will/would be

there for each other! God bless all of you!

>Diane Twachtman- something or other. She has a hyphenated last name. She

integrates a lot of VB and floortime and works to overcome these higher

level impairments as well.

If you want to make some people twitch, you can post her name to the

Me-list. :)

She doesn't have quite the umph that Bryna Siegel, complete with an

antivirus kit named

after her, has but she still can raise the

blood pressure of a number of Me-listers- including Freeman who

is willing to give specific details about how she testified on behalf of his

school district against ABA services for his son . He reported that

she charged the district 2700 dollars per day for this.

She is known for consulting for school districts and testifying against

families

seeking ABA services. She charges the districts a pretty penny to do this

too.

She has basically taken a stance against intensive ABA and pretty much

doesn't

believe that children can obtain normal functioning. She is well trained in

TEACCH and her daughter is also of the TEACCH camp. They pretty much

alternate between suggestions for a Prizant type approach for the higher

level kids and a Mesibov approach for the lower level kids. I don't know if

she has toned down her antiABA stance in the last year or so but....

While I don't know a ton about exactly what she proposes long term

for these kids- I do think that her taking this stance prevents me from

ever buying anything of hers new.
