The Vanishing of the Bees documentary takes a piercing investigative look at the economic, political and spiritual implications of the puzzling world wide disappearance of honeybees. Colony Collapse Disorder is a mysterious ecological tragedy that could topple our food chain and change our way of life forever. The film raises awareness about this crucial issue while revealing the ancient and sacred connection between man and the honey bee. The Vanishing of the Bees unfolds as a dramatic tale of science and mystery as it illuminates this extraordinary crisis and its greater meaning about the relationship between humankind and mother earth. The bees have a message, will we listen? Join filmmakers, am Henein and Langworthy, renowned entomologist and bee expert from the University of Minnesota, Dr. Marla Spivak and honey producer/beekeeper from Ames Farm, Fredericksen to watch a short preview of " The Vanishing of the Bees. " The preview will be followed by a panel discussion focused on the issues affecting the health of honeybees and honeybees' relationship to agriculture and the environment. There will be an opportunity afterwards to ask questions. Common Roots will prepare a special honeybee themed tasting menu for the evening available for purchase.
