Hi List,

My 5 years old daughter still doesn't talk, 3 month

ago we began to teach her sing language, she now can

sign for 5 items that she really wants. She is also

bubbling alot but I would like to know how I can get

her to start to speak??

the child has to learn to do the sign for more than

20 items to bigin to speack???.

Someone suggested to me that I try holding the object

that she wants in front of her, for example if she

likes candy I would hold it in front of her and say

" candy " three times and if my daughter says " ca " give

it to her, also if she doesn't say anything also I

give it to her.I have tried to do this many times but

she just starts trying to do different signs instead

of making the sound of " ca " .

Iam wondering if I should work on this in the

work-room on " verbal imitation " but how do I begin to

do this??

I have tried to do this a bit in her normal when is

watching T.V or walking inside the home but she get

very frustrated, for example when I tell her say " a " ,

she starts doing differents signs because she doesn't

know how to make the sound of " a " .

but my daughter bubbling alot she say words without

she mean it and after while she forget the word and

bigin to say another new word .

I would love to hear from parents who have children

who used to be nonverbal but now are able to talk ,

please tell me how you were able to teach your child

to speak??

Please help me ( My daughter is doing good , she just

need to learn how to talk ).
