Toronto Board of Education--Special Education for HFA

My son (higher functioning autism) will be going into Grade 1 next

September. He's with a shadow right now and will likely need a

communication class or part of his day in self-contained class. I'm looking

for some help from any parents that have had " success " in placing their kids

in Toronto or York Region Boards.

1. Any idea of what the Special Ed Rationalization initiative will look

like for our kids?

2. Any programs/curriculums that are working (for example, any schools that

have adopted Direct Instruction materials)?

3. Any private schools offering distinctive programming?
