Guest guest
hi there, once pronouns are reversed, it can take quite a while to undo it. we approched the problem from two different points. 1) reverse our pronouns when we addressed him. for example: q: do i want a drink? a: yes i do. this can be difficult, but it goes directly at the the problem of how the child learned to reverse pronouns in the first place. 2) when he had a strong mand, we would go through a quick series of whose body part is this questions, and make sure to prompt the right answer before he could be wrong. for example: q: what is this (pointing to my elbow, our son already knew body parts)? a: (quick prompt from his perspective) your elbow. q: what is this (pointing to his feet)? a: (quick prompt from his perspective) my feet. then we extended to ownership of objects. this wasn't teaching i/you, but i wanted to work on something that was not as engrained and i/you. once my/your was mastered, i,me/you fell in to place with the help of 1) above. my son aquires concepts very quickly, but these took us months, now its not an issue. --aaron _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx
Guest guest
My son did this as well for a couple of years and we just kept modeling the correct format for him and now he finally has it although with excitement occasionally he will reverse but it is rare.
