Guest guest
I have 2 one-gallon clear glass cookie jars with glass lids (not tight-fitting at all) and before I give them away I thought I'll ask this on here: As a Trad-foodist, is there anything I can/should store in them? I do not bake a lot of cookies. I originally got the jars to make kombucha in, but found it awkward to pour the kombucha out of them into serving containers, so I switched to making kombucha in suntea jars. If I cannot find a suitable use these cookie jars I will give them away. Suggestions anyone? Thanks, , the lady in purple Isaiah 26:3 No God, no peace Know God, know peace
Guest guest
Hi , I have two of those same jars and was going to use them to do Kombucha, after taking Barb's class. But then we bought the big 2 gallon jars like Barb uses. (We scoop out the KT and decant it into 32oz. & 16oz. bottles from a brewing place.) Anyway, you could use one of the jars as a " scoby hotel " , a place to let some of your extra scobies sit in tea while they await use. My real plan for how to use the jars is to use them as crocks when I get fermenting some sauerkraut and other things from the Wild Fermentation book. So that's my best recommendation, if you like to do any of that. Just occurred to me you could use them to throw your extra change into to save up for something special. We do that with one of those big plastic baby bottles, but you could sure do it with the 1 gallon jars too. Blessings, Jean
