Guest guest
I just wanted to comment on what t Burk wrote, " Joint Control.... There is a technical definition for this, but the end result of this teaching procedure is to teach the child to talk to himself so that he may be able to increase short term memory for complex tasks. " The easiest way to understand this term is to pick up an early childhood textbook....Yes, that's right....it is part of the developmental sequence of acquiring language for all children. Piaget called it " monologue " , Vygotsky called it " private speech " . Combine the typical sequence of language acquisition along with the principles of ABA and you will have a good AVB program. In the Early Childhood Classes that I teach at the local college, the first thing I teach my students (plus I preach all semester) is that EVERY area of development follows a sequence, and EVERY child must follow that sequence to continue to develop appropriately. Skinner was pretty smart, wasn't he???Mare
