Guest guest
Whatever it brings, it will be a day late and a dollar short. I tried to bring EMR to our mountain valley in the early 00's, but it fell through and now there ae 5 different EMR's in the valley that don't talk to each other. Oh well. I'm not a physician, rather at 62 prematurely retired thanks to Kodak, I spend a lot of time coaching seniors (anyone older than me) on using computers (to do anything their heart desires). So, there's the minor issue of working with the last generation which didn't even encounter computers in the workplace (after all, my own college experience in the 1960s exposed only a few physics majors to the fine points of 80 column punch cards, but learning about computers 'on the job' was one of the more fun parts of my career). But the larger issue - many of my clients are in assisted living or nursing homes - is diminishing cognitive skills (which my generation - probably even yours - isn't likely to escape). Then add on that some patients with bills to be paid are actually sick, and on meds, and have reduced judgment skills for that reason. Add it all up, and I am often horrified to watch my clients attempt to navigate the various temptations awaiting on the internet. The DNR bracelets notwithstanding, I carefully steer folks away from any financial transactions. You're aware, I'm sure, that paypal among others have been imitated in scams attempting to collect credit card info. Your site isn't high volume enough to be likely vehicle for fraudulent 'redirection' of your patients' payment efforts to something other than the real paypal. But sophisticated as I think (thought) I was, I've come very close to being snookered (craigslist can be a real tar pit - you may know about it). So, now that Colorado is a blue state, what to you suppose the next admin will bring to the emr and IMP worlds?ahe We live in a well off resort area -- lots of people w/ computer access. Who is literally computerphobic -- I'm not sure -- I would say <10% say they don't have access to a computer through a family member, work, or library. I'll be eager to hear how this works out for you - it looks fine to me.I like the rest of your website, too. What percentage of your practice might you guess to be computerphobic?ahe I haven't tested it yet, but.... http://www.lockefamilymedicine.com/Payment.html It's " free " through paypal. Just have to do a little cut/paste of the html code into your website. -- Eskind200 Rockingham St.Rochester, NY14620
