Hi--

We used the level 1 Kaufman Kit a couple of years ago when it first came

out. My son LOVED the big, colorful pictures and was willing to work hard on

the echoics in order to hold the cards. I just picked out words and sound

combinations that were easier and then he worked his way up to the harder

ones over the months. We used them strictly for echoics, not as tacts. The

booklet that comes with them helped me to understand which phonemes are

easier, which are more difficult (and which substitutions kids make), and how

to start combining them-- i.e. vowel-consonent, consonent-vowel-consonent,

etc.
