Hello everybody,

I have never been so confused ever... I met with one ABA

Professional who said that the intraverbal should be functional. Things

about a child's personal information or Play-scenario etc..

We have been introducing mastered tacts into RFFC then TFFC and then

INTRAVERBALS.

So an intraverbal may look like - " You wash your hands with - water "

" What do you do with the Shirt - wear "

This professional thinks that these intraverbals are not functional. We

should not devote our time fading out the visual cues for these intraverbals

becaus in the real life no one will ask him this type of questions. Instead

we should concentrate on the social questions.

I argued that, with whatever little knowledge I have for the

intervention of the ASD child, Intraverbals are the foundation for the

future normal conversation. She does not agree with that.

What exactly is the definition of the INTRAVEBAL.

I had posted about the RFFC/TFFC and open ended questions in the

intraverbals few days ago and someone had given me the idea to introduce the

intraverbals in themes and that way you can have a conversation going on.

I don't remember who that person was, can you tell me, once you pick a theme

how do you pick the intraverbals.

Please share your thoughts with me.

Thank you

-Rucha
