This open house forum addresses several myths about behavioral treatment and more specifically applied behavior analysis. The presentation outlines various popular treatments and reviews their history in applied behavior analysis as well as current trends in research. This training is free of charge as is all " Open House " training at TCLC Texas Behavior Clinic to parents and Para-professionals (in-home trainers, therapists, tutors). The training seating availability is extremely limited and only the first 20 registered attendees will be accepted. Child care for (Children with developmental disabilities only) parents who are unable to arrange such will be provided. Please fill out the registration form located at www.tclc.com click on TCLC Behavior Clinics in the United States, then TCLC Texas Behavior Clinic Open House Training Registration. One " Open House " training will be held each month for the balance of the year. Again spaces for these training are very limited, so we ask that you have consideration for the fact that we are trying to have as many parents present as possible. Other training includes: April 15th - Generalization Training: What is it? A training for parents as part of our open house series designed to assist parents and Para-professionals to get a grip on generalization training in the natural environment. May 20th - Skinner's Analysis of Verbal Behavior: Where are we now? A more in-depth look at the verbal operants including " self editing " , " recombinative generalization " , " autoclitics " , " augmentals " and " listener behaviors " like " pliance " and " tracking " . June 17th - Teaching Language to Persons with Developmental Disabilities An open house presentation to introduce Para-professionals, and parents to a number of techniques that TCLC Texas Behavior Clinic uses to develop language (verbal behavior) when working with clients who receive services from the clinic. July 15th - Issues in Socialization Training, from Simple Toy Play to Advanced Peer Interaction This open house event will introduce parents and Para-professionals to the basic elements of socialization training including developing interest in toy interaction, didactic play, parallel play, cooperative play, and advanced socialization including hobbies and group activities. Registrations are open for the above training, additionally the training listed below will become available for registration in future months. August 19th - Assessment of Learning Behavior September 16th - Functional Analysis: Assessment of Aberrant Behavior October 21st - Reinforcement: It's Not Just for Breakfast anymore!
