PLEASE JOIN US FOR A COMMUNITY BUILDING EXPERIENCE ON THE INTERNET!

TCLC Discussion Forum

As part of the TCLC Behavior Clinic " Parent Education, Networking,

Advocacy and Support Initiative " mandated by our Board in 1999 as the

" Y2K Initiative " we have developed and deployed a discussion board

available at www.tclc.com and then clicking on the link entitled " TCLC

Discussion Forum " . It is suggested that those who might like to become

involved in the Forum click on " Rules " and " Help " in the upper right

hand corner for important information about being a Forum member.

As a part of the Parent Education, Networking, Advocacy and Support

Initiative additional pages will be available over the next weeks and

months. These pages will include:

1. A GUEST BOOK

2. A LINK Page that allows members to add and modify links of

importance

3. A NEWS page where important information about conferences,

research and legislative issues will be posted

4. An E-Newsletter and mailing list to keep you up to date on

important events when you don't have time to visit the various forums

5. A real time CHAT ROOM

The Current web Forum is divided into Categories and then Topics (sub

categories if you wish). Members are free to start there own " Topics "

or participate in the current topics of discussion. Additionally,

although the Forum is monitored for netiquette only certain Categories

are moderated.

Category: Advocacy Developmental Disabilities

and support " parent to parent " and " parent to professional " in an open

and helpful environment.

Current Topics: Advocacy & Support

3/28/2002 6:53:28 AM: This topic covers general chat for parents and

professionals about social environments and inclusion for people with

developmental disabilities.

Category: Education Issues

3/28/2002 6:57:12 AM: This discussion forum offers an opportunity for

parents and professionals to share information and ideas about education

issues in this day and age.

Current Topics: IDEA " Is it just a dream "

3/28/2002 7:00:50 AM: This topic covers the day to day reality of IDEA

in contrast to the realities of IDEA.

Current Topics: Where are all of the " good " schools?

3/28/2002 7:02:10 AM: This topic is for parents and professionals to

" frankly " (considering netiquette) discuss the BEST schools, where they

are found and what they are doing for people with special needs.

Current Topics: IEP: The realties of " Individualized Education " and how

I can develop a solid plan for my child.

3/28/2002 7:04:56 AM: This topic is to discuss the pragmatics of

developing a solid plan for your child, setting MESAURABLE GOALS and

reasonable benchmarks for development and mainstream inclusion.

Category: Behavior Analysis in Our Time

3/28/2002 8:10:57 AM: This category is for all who are interested in or

involved in behavior based programming for individuals with

developmental disabilities.

Current Topics: Behavior Analysis for Adults?

3/28/2002 8:14:21 AM: Using behavior analysis with individuals above the

age of six, don't believe what you have heard (Behavior Analysis) is

effective with every age from birth to death.

Current Topics: Programming for Children?

disabilities.

3/28/2002 8:12:44 AM: This topic will be a thorough review of Skinner's

1957 " Verbal Behavior " . Participants will need to have a copy of

Skinner's book to actively participate.
