Guest guest
Hi everyone and I'm sorry about the cross post. A family I do consulting with is having some problems getting their 3 y/o PDD-NOS son to go to bed at a normal hour. It's as if he's got his days/nights a little confused. He doesn't normally wind down enough to fall asleep till after 11pm. Mom and dad have followed all the advice I've given them and I've stayed many a nights to put him to bed myself just to see if he's pushing his parents buttons. Not much has worked. His parents have recently started to use Melatonin with him to aid him to fall asleep at a normal hour. When his parents are consistent with its use, it has worked well to help him to bed. I have worked with several families who have found this a great blessing. So here's the question: What is the normal dosage? (and yes, I'm aware it's not recommended for children under 16) Can anyone refer me to online references, studies, or webpages that discuss how melatonin works and why it is especially helpful in children with autism? Thanks a bunch! Koenigkramer Koenigkramer ABA Therapist PO Box 961 Green Brook, NJ 08812 (cell) 908-591-1577 (fax) 732-424-9755 GoldenEydGoddess@...
