Guest guest
Hi Penny, That is terrifying!!! I was just considering something to that effect yesterday evening. You may find three products on this site helpful: 1)Miniature Child Guard, 2)Child Watch, or 3)Child Guardian. http://www.guarddog.net/calarm.htm The website is currently not accepting orders, but perhaps they will accept phone orders, or you can locate these items elsewhere (now that you know what you are specifically looking for). If not, try a Google search for " personal child safety alarms. " There are quite a few things on the market. Good luck and I hope you recover soon. That would follow me a loooong time. Guest guest
Hi Penny, Here is an additional note: if you ordered one of those products, you could place either or both of them in fanny packs that would be difficult to take off so that it would be less tempting for your son to " pull the cord " (though an alarm goes off if he does on most models). Here is another site option for the Child Watch (looks like the latest model): http://www.allprotection.com/child-watch.htm Also, I don't know what you are doing about bedroom door locks, but there is a personal door alarm available online that emits a loud beep if he touches the handle on his side. It closes the circuit and activates the alarm, though it is not harmful to him. It doesn't work on metal doors though. We have one that we take on vacation with us. It works well and our son has only tried to escape once. He touched the door handle, the alarm went off and he never tried it again...behaviorism at work... I just found it with a Google search " personal travel door alarms " : 2 in 1 - Door & Personal Alarm for $9.95 at http://www.central-alarms.com/alarms/agora.cgi?page=portable_.html The " Door Stopper Plus " looks promising too. I will have to get one of those for those times when we have metal doors in the hotel. Hope this helps!!! I'm so sorry about that experience! :-{ Tamara
