Guest guest
Hi , I want to ask if anyone knows any autistic child who is hitting and punching his own head out of the blue for whatever reason that I don't know yet. My son has been doing this for awhile and it worries me a lot. He punches his head really hard, many times I put my hand in his head to stop him from hitting his head and it really hurt my hand. He is nonverbal so I cannot ask him why he punched his head and got upset for whatever the reason is I wish I know so I can help him. I am currious if this is behavior problem or something in his head that is hurting him. Please let me know if you have any idea at all about this strange behavior that help me understand my son. Thanks
Guest guest
Could be yeast too. My son hit his head on his crib for years, I now know it was phenol intolerance AND yeast. He still occassionally does what you describe, only on his brother's head. You might want to check your yeast protocol or phenol intake? Guest guest
andrew does this as well (and he has a cochlear implant to boot so it pretty much wigs me to no end...) I remove him from the situation as best as possible (not possible when going 70 on the interstate and it is happenein in a car seat)...I try and get him something soft to hit his head or bang his fists. For him it is when he gets angry....although he does have yeast issues which we are tackling (not sure about phenols yet..) has been gfcf for 18 mo as well and we just started enzymes (head banging began before)...sorry not a real answer since i am in the middle of it too but I try and give him an appropriate way to let his anger out. (He knows it wigs me out so because of his implant so I think that doesn't help matters. It is soooooooo hard to stay calm in these situations!) amy > > Does anyone have any idea what could be causing my son to hit his head > > when he is angry? He has been doing this for about 2 weeks.
