Guest guest
Originally, they were considered school district employees and got 8.00 per hour plus benefits (but hey, if you are only working part time, those benefits aren't there). Then they switched to contracted services and paid 8.00 per hour flat rate. Our lead therapist made 15.00 per hour up to 10hrs per week. Anything above that would be at 8.00 per hour. Ironically, i know one of our therapists is now a certified teacher as well as a therapist and the district pays her 18.00 (amazing.. a teacher would earn more than a lead therapist for the same DTT work- even if the teacher had no experience) Many states that have TEFRA have a standard for ABA pay and the districts can opt to pay at that scale. Contracted services is often the way that many district pay if they are not involved int he hiring/firing and training. A.C.

ABA and public schools are completely separate here. The only " therapists " employed by schools are certified allied health professionals like OT, PT or speech therapists. ABA/DTT/AVB programs are offered by certified providers who hire and train their own staff who are not certified by any public agency. They are trained and supervised by the provider. in Wi. Guest guest
in NY 0-3 years. Early intervention pays. You get ghours through them, you find agency's that porvided the services, and they pay 100 - 110 an hour for special ed teachers (master degrees) paras get 15 an hour. .. However agencies make their cut, which leaves the Special educator about 60-75 an hour. and a para with about 11 dollars From 3- 5 though your school district is the GATE KEEPER to the hours and services, it is still not paid for by the distrcit..The pay goes down a bit for the preschool age.. where the teachers end up with 50- 55 an hour . (again they have their masters in special ed) Now private people in the area (with or without degrees, but claim themselves professionals in ABA,) ask 40-100 an hour CASH. Some undergrads are happy with 15-25. A leagl battel will have to take palce if you want THOSE out of pocket hours paid for . But basically most people work for an agency, the parents or service coordinators contact these agency's, they supply the family with the services, and everyone gets paid. > We have been working with our district for 5 months regarding our > son's educational program.
