Guest guest
My son uses the word " you " to refer to himself. Although we know the source of the reason why this came to be, we are having such a hrad time correcting it. He says things such as " You don't want to have cereal for breaksfast " in a tone as if he is saying it to himself. He does this wuite frequently. It is usually when he is saying he doesn't want to do something and it is generally when he is trying to be funny as in " You don't want to color the boy's face blue! " But he does do it at other times too. If we ask, " What did you ride on at the amusement park? " He will begin with " You went on.. " and we immediately correct and say " I " so that he starts over correctly. When we can get to it, we prompt before his answer, but this isn't always possible depending on the social situation. Does any one have suggestions for directly teaching him how to use " you " and " I " correctly across the board?
