Guest guest
Dylan, my 3-1/2 year old high functioning autistic son, is in a Lovass replication site ABA home program, 35 hours per week, and has been for 10 months. This method of ABA has been helpful. His abilities to copy, do puzzles, follow instructions, etc. have greatly improved. They have yet, however, focused on his expressive language skills other than pronounciation (sounds and combination sounds), despite the fact that he is and has been saying 5-6 word sentences (he learned to speak incidentally), and has started to answer " w " questions incidentally as well. They also still spend a large majority of the time at the table. I am feeling that more natural environment training might be more appropriate, and that verbal behavior might also be appropriate. How do I find a professional (I am in Southern New Jersey, just 30 minutes from Philadelphia) to do an assessment and give me some good advice? Our school district is currently paying for his home program. Marcy 800-331-8272, ext. 303 (work) mkelly@... (work)
