I didn't know most people had friends till middle school, and didn't have my own friends till high school, except the girls in jr high (2 of them, one in 7th grade one in 8th) whose parents MADE them do stuff with me...one girl's mom was friends with my mom, the other girl was on my basketball team and was pretty abrasive herself. Then, ah, high school. Land of way more unusual souls than a 26 individual class...
