Hello all,

One week before the election is time to speak to the canidate. Please take

the time to call or write your local represenative and discuss HR 5078.

Even if you have written a follow up phone call can have a powerful impact

in letting your representative know what is important to you. It is

important that this bill is supported and this bill contains

language adding behavior analyst's to teh fray. The effects of this bill

will be to create more behavior analytic trainign programs and more

student interest in behavior analysis (scholarships and loan repayment

removing finacial obstancles for those who want to get invovled in this

area).

It is also time to speak to your senator. Please do not forget Senate bill

1760. This bill will allow for direct payment from medicare for counselors

and marriage and family therapist. Again, we need to ensue that

behavioranalyst's are added to the bill.

Finally, to both memers of congress, we need to discuss IDEA's

reauthorization. It is important to remember that the our children in the

schools could have much greater accesss to behavior analytic services,

such as functional behavioral assessment, direct instruction, verbal

behavior training, discrete trial, school-wide discipline, and behavioral

consultation if one behavior analyst is mandated for every one thousand

children. Our children need to have the most up to date behaviroal

technology. Only by supporting board certified behavior analyst's can we

ensure that this is the case.

The time is now. We must not let it pass. Your committment is greatly
