Guest guest
I think that is as it should be - it liquifies any blockages. If he will frink 8 oz of water then you will have better luck with this intervention than Matt did...just remember it really is a laxatice and they can become dependent on it per K. If you ahve to keep giving something more long term look at the ingredients in hydro c and use something with the same ingredients or that stuff as it will not lead to a dependncy issue, per him. He just dpoes not like the fiber aspect of oxy pwder...I gave it too though, so it does work. I only gave it once, I don not know if it really does harm, long term or not...Di > > We are going ahead and trying oxypowder to clear up 's acute constipation because I had been told to use it on him by his doctor and we had already ordered it. When I put in the glycerin suppository, it does not absorb. When giving the oxypowder, will pretty quickly have pure liquid diarrhea and it just pushes the suppository out whole. The doctor said to use either glycerin suppository or pediatric fleet enema to clear blockage from below but it does not seem to be working from below. (have not tried enema yet) But the oxypowder is doing something from above. We gave him two capsules at bedtime with 8 ounces of water. > > has had some pure liquid BMs since we started oxy powder yesterday. Things are moving but no solids. Guest guest
Thanks, Di! I decided to give it to them since I had ordered it and paid $89 for two bottles with shipping. Hate to pay that much and not even try the stuff and since their doctor prescribed it, I will use it for at least the two bottles worth. I will definately check into the hydro C because I do not want any long term dependency. Both boys are big drinkers. So, there is no problem getting them to drink 8 ounces or more at a time when giving them the oxy powder. Guest guest
GO to Fiber Menace to read up on his theories about what created the malabsorption issues in the first place...the ingredients in hydro c are not laxatives or fiber supps and non addictive...I used it to be come regular on a low carb lifestyle..Di > > > > > > We are going ahead and trying oxypowder to clear up 's acute > > constipation because I had been told to use it on him by his doctor > > and we had already ordered it.
