Guest guest
You have a *great* ped to suggest MB12 shots, you are very lucky. Most won't and don't believe they do anything. Count your blessings, here! :)Just start with the diet. You don't want to do too many things at once. Start the diet first. Don't add MB12 shots while doing anything new - you need to give the shots about 5 weeks before you add anything. I would wait to start the MB12 shots until after you've been on the whole diet for about a month or two. You want to be able to know what is doing what. If you see gains with the diet, then you want to be sure it's the diet and not the MB12 shots or vice versa. I know it's easy to want to do everything *now* but you really need to be able see what is happening.CherylHi everyone! I'd like to first thank everyone who has helped me on myquest to find out what my son has and how to treat it. He is 9 yearsold and we have always felt he fell somewhere on the spectrum but thedocs we went to did not want to "label" him and just told us he wasmentally retarded. Well, we finally found a good doctor who wasreally willing to help my son and listen to our concerns. Shediagnosed him as having autism (which breaks my heart and makes mehappy at the same time!) At least we now know where to start! Wealso found a DAN! doctor (Which I had never even heard of until thisgroup!) and will start seeing him on the 14th. This monday we aregoing to remove all dairy and then work up to no gluten as well. Myregular pediatrician suggested the MB12 shots and after I get going onthe diet for a couple of months, we will give a try as well. I amreally excited and totally overwhelmed as well. I have read a ton ofposts, articles and books and feel I at least have an idea of where Iwant to go.My next question is this, Should I be doing any supplementation orenzymes along with starting the gf/cf diet or should I just wait untilwe see the DAN! doctor and see what he says? I don't want to do toomuch at once but, am unsure if we should be doing anything along withdiet to start. Thanks again for the support and advice!!! It has been so nice to beable to speak with people who have been where I am right now!!!Tracie
