Hi Steph and Lesley!

I live south of the city, in Sutherland. I've had EN since I was 21 and am now 49. No cause has ever been found but each flare up I try and see if there are any new tests to try! My belief is that whatever the underground cause for my EN my trigger is stress and I am continually trying different ways of successfully managing stress. I've tried bio feedback, meditation, yoga, exercise, and am now trying cognitive behavioural therapy to see if that works! My flare ups have changed over time. Most recently I seem to get more intense, shorter duration ones. In the past I would get 30-50 nodules (usually on my legs, hips and tush) that would last up to 6 months (without prednisone). Now I'm getting many more nodules (150+) on my legs up to my rib cage and on my arms. The flare ups are much more intense with high fevers but only last a couple of months (and only a few weeks of that is truly bad).

I moved to Sydney from the US 12 years ago. I've been lucky enough to find good doctors in each town I've lived in. Understanding, supportive and will to let me take the lead in testing theories and determining when I need medications.

How about you guys??

Steph I couldn't agree more that the credit goes to ! We are all so much in your debt! Whether or not you have biological children this EN group child of yours has made a significant difference to many, many of us!

Hi & Group,I've been a member for a while now but haven't posted in a long time.Have spent the last few days reading over EVERY single email I've missed (all 4000 of them)! Anyway I was so excited to see the posts from Lesley and Bobby as I live in Sydney too and haven't foundANYONE with EN in this area! Would love to hear from you! I have had EN since I was 12 (now 28). Have found no known cause and am still searching! Can't believe how much the group has grown in the last 6 months! It's a credit to you !Steph

Dear Stef;

I am sorry to hear of your loss. It is hard to deal with the loss of someone special in your life. You are so very right, though; it DOES remind us to appreciate what we do have and hopefully to remember to let people who are important to us know that they are!

Take care of yourself and revel in your friends!

Bobby

I will be grilling my doctor on Tuesday as I have to have more bloodwork done. Hope everyone is well keep your shins up Lynda

Hi Lynda,

Inflammation from any cause, EN or whatever, can cause hemolytic anemia which needs to be treated with B-12 and folic acid. I also take iron for it. At one time I had to take all these supplements in prescription strength but I got some better treatment for the inflammation and now I can get by with just regular supplements.

Custom probotics in Glendale will make any blend you wnat and you can

mix this into a bit of food or water in the am. Young Cocnut Kefir

has made Matt's bloated santa belly flat for the first time ever-

though we will see if it stays that way. SF277 by Thorne is derived

from Castor Bean oil - sort of how Lorenzo's oil was from olive oil,

but wasn't just oilve oil off the shelf...very effective strategy for

candidiasis...there is a ND/DC who uses just that one supp with

probioticsand some supplementation to address it in all his

patients..you give one and build to three three times a day...we are

just starting that now as we were not giving nearly enough and

therefor did not see an effect, so pulled it until we found out that

like the probiotics we were far UNDER the recommended amount...If

your son is a type A the body ecology diet gives very thorough advice

on probiotics and recovery...if an O like ours we still are biased to

the SCD/GAPS as this family does not do well on grains, maybe

someday, but for now - no. My don however does very well on goat

milk yogurt, but we established the flora in his gut to digest it,

and this is def not for everyone....all the best. GOod luck. DI---

Dear Jahid,Welcome to mgims family!I eagerly wait for some news from 76 batch .

Tarvinder is the only one who is a regular .He has become popular on this forum

because of his philosophical musings and lyrical approach to everything. But his

kingsize hospitality is something which endears him to all the lucky

ones(including author of these lines). This mail will not be complete without

mentioning another gem from 76 (besides Gem Gambhir) DDM,who likes duels with

Tarvinder (ha ha!).Takiar and Santosh briefly appear on the scene occasionally.I

prefer a silent mode, though I rarely miss the mails from mgims and make it a

point to update myself.VK Gupta 76PS.I wrote all this to encourage you to come
