Guest guest
I'm 40 " tall and my height didn't make any difference for my employers. The important questions are: What can YOU do for THEM? -- What are YOUR skills? What is YOUR experience? What can YOU contribute to their organization? Why should they hire YOU? You've got to make yourself employable to get a job. Find something that you are really good at and go for it. Graphic design is a start; but what have you done with it? Have you made web sites? What about brochures or artistic projects. Show them! Hope this helps- Looking for work Hello i was wondering if anyone knew of anyone looking for help i just graduated from college i have a Associates degree in Graphic design and its hard to find work but being 3'2 " doesnt help LOL so was just wondering this is my first time using this newsgroup Thank you Ford Hollywood Ca __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Hey! Keep your spirits up and remember, the job market is tough right now for EVERYONE. My husband is not an LP, he has his BA in graphic art, 10 years of experience and national awards. He has not been able to find jobs other than freelance for over 2 years! Just keep networking, keep making calls, and keep at it. With the job market right now, you may have to look at taking something outside your field, just don't get down about it. Positive attitudes are what impress employers, not your height! > Hello i was wondering if anyone knew of anyone looking > for help i just graduated from college i have a > Associates degree in Graphic design and its hard to > find work but being 3'2 " doesnt help LOL so was just > wondering this is my first time using this newsgroup > Thank you > Ford > Hollywood Ca > > __________________________________________________ >
Guest guest
and , Another source to cover is the Federal Government. I worked for them and believe me, they have job listing from all over the country and overseas. The problem is you have four different branches of service that is Department of Defense, then you have all of the other branches of service, such as the Justice Department, Commerce Department, and so on, www.usajobs.opm.gov/ use to be a very good site to find jobs in Government. You might try it, you never know what you may find. Good luck on your job searches, back in the late Seventies I myself was out of work for three years before I pulled up stakes and headed out west were at that time jobs were plentiful, the Midwest had died back then for jobs. Sometimes relocating is what you have to face in order to get employment now days. Guest guest
I used to temp for the feds....not a bad place to work. That was in Portland Oregon. State jobs are a good way to go too. Especially in Oregon. You have to take the office exam for clerical but it's a good way to go as far as benefits go. Guest guest
Listmates, One of my aids will be going off to college and will be looking for a part time job. She has been working in our home-based program this summer for our 3.8yr daughter (ASD). We use teaching strategies that fall under the ABA umbrella; this includes discrete trials and PRT, Activity Schedules, play skills and social communication. She will be moving to Klamath Falls, Oregon at the end of September. We will miss her as a part of our team. If interested please e-mail Unruh at unruhlk@....
