Hello again fellow ABA'ers,

I've gotten some good feedback on delivery of primary reinforcers & will

summarize & share it with you this weekend. Behold another question has

arisen. The new criteria from what I understand is that your child needs to

be Manding at least 50 different items 1000's of times /day to become

conversational. So, if the child gives you an incorrect response, but mands a

primary do you give it to her/him anyway ; just to keep the mand rate up?

There must be some intersection point at which you can keep the correct

responses, whether using transfer trials or just incorporating enough

material that allows for correct responses going so that you are able to

maintain an extremely high mand rate, while at the same time not rewarding the

child with primaries for totally prompted responses.

Well, again thanks for the feedback. I'll also check w/ our consultant now

w/ all the info you've provided to see what she says..

Regards,

the bi-centurian w/ an 8 yr old boy

Larry
