Guest guest
That's very interesting, . Thanks for pointing out. I know he does have problems with high fat foods because when I cooked ground lamb for them a while back, it had a lot of grease which I tried to drain off but even with enzymes, he ate and threw up almost immediately. When I gave it again with extra enzymes for fat absorption, he ate with no problem. I wonder if the fish oil I am giving is causing problems. We just changed to a new type. The other was not causing any problems. But the new type is stronger and I was giving more of it. That is interesting. I think I will hold off on this fish oil for a few days. Where can I get this. Also, Dana.....something I've been realizing tonight is that my constipation may be due to his fat malabsorption issues, and I've been giving him some primrose oil (for his gut) which is probably not good. Could the glycerine supository be passing through undigested because it's oil based, and your son is having difficulty absorbing oils as well? Re: Trying oxypowder to clear blockage/constipati on I think that is as it should be - it liquifies any blockages. If he will frink 8 oz of water then you will have better luck with this intervention than Matt did...just remember it really is a laxatice and they can become dependent on it per K. If you ahve to keep giving something more long term look at the ingredients in hydro c and use something with the same ingredients or that stuff as it will not lead to a dependncy issue, per him. He just dpoes not like the fiber aspect of oxy pwder...I gave it too though, so it does work. I only gave it once, I don not know if it really does harm, long term or not...Di>> We are going ahead and trying oxypowder to clear up 's acute constipation because I had been told to use it on him by his doctor and we had already ordered it. When I put in the glycerin suppository, it does not absorb. When giving the oxypowder, will pretty quickly have pure liquid diarrhea and it just pushes the suppository out whole. The doctor said to use either glycerin suppository or pediatric fleet enema to clear blockage from below but it does not seem to be working from below. (have not tried enema yet) But the oxypowder is doing something from above. We gave him two capsules at bedtime with 8 ounces of water.> > has had some pure liquid BMs since we started oxy powder yesterday. Things are moving but no solids. What are other's experiences using this? How long does it take to clear a blockage?> > > Dana > and Garrett, just turned 4, SCD 2 years> Celiac, ASD, Speech and Motor Apraxia, sensory processing disorder>
