Guest guest
Hi List I am still having trouble teaching my son to brush his teeth. Right now, I don't care if he is able to brush his teeth on his own; I just want him to let me do it for him. At first, I tried to brush hes teeth by myself, but he wouldn’t let me. So we tried an imitation program with the therapists in the room. We had him just put the toothbrush inside his mouth towards his back teeth he put the brush in his mouth but he would just bite down on it. Then we tried to get him to brush his front teeth through imitation. But, my son just touched his front teeth instead of brushing them. The therapists wouldn’t set him to brush at all. Later, I tried to brush his teeth again myself, but he wouldn’t let me at all. My question is if there are any special toothbrushes that I can use for my 5-year old nonverbal child? Also, does anyone know of any easier methods to get him to let us brush his teeth? We are using “Baby Orajel” toothpaste: is anyone else using this brand, and if so, can you tell me how is it? Is it causing any problems in the child’s stomach? I'd be really grateful for any help/advice you can give. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp.
