Guest guest
" The symptoms between autism and mercury poisoning could be similar enough for misidentifications to occur? " In the Files section, there is a folder called " Reliable Information. " In it, there is a folder containing information on the genetic origins of autism. There is another one on vaccines which contains articles which state why vaccines have never caused autism, why the don't cause autism, and why they never will cause autism. You may also find articles which state that lead poisoning mimics autism but is NOT autism. Administrator

Guest guest
" Thus my argument for a genetic increase in allergies to our existing environment. " There ARE things that can alter genes in people, but autistic genes are present before birth, and there is no indication that anything the mother may have ingested or inhaled is a causative factor in " creating " those genes. They are simply natural differentiations. " Bull. The amount in the initial vaccinations was the dosage for a 250 lb male. Look it up. That's far beyond the dosage level for a small child and could certainly cause these problems. Especially if you add in a genetic allergic reaction. " It doesn't matter what the dosage was. It is still far less than any level that is considered toxic. I've spent about three months researching autism and vaccinations for an upcoming project, and medical organizations in Canada, the US, and the UK as well as many other countries have examined this issue and re-examined it. Thimerosal does not cause autism, nor does the mercury fillings in teeth. To suggest, therefore, that vaccines DO cause autism would mean that countries all over the world are conspiring to poison their own citizens and deliberately cover it up. Given that most countries cannot come together on the most minor trade pacts, that the UN and NATO and OPEC and OAS and all sorts of other groups are constantly fighting with one another, it is hard to believe that countries the world over could so swiftly agree to create and perpetuate such a conspiracy. The fact of the matter is, there have been government funded studies, drug-company funded studies, independent studies funded by autism organizations, and studies funded by people who truly believe there is a link between vaccines and autism. All of these studies have proven that there is no link between thimerosal and autism. The ONLY study which showed there was a link was done by Dr. Wakefield, a " scientist " who took blood samples from kids at a birthday party and faked the results as proven by peer review and scientists the world over. Which brings up another point, if there were a conspiracy to cover up the fact that vaccines cause autism, it would mean that not only would drug companies and governments and scientists and doctors and medical organizations and autism organizations the world over be in on it, but it would also mean that those doctors who are in the paid employ of people who believe there is a link are in on it. Does anyone here expect to just sit here and believe that all these entities and all these people can keep their mouths shut if the facts proved there IS a link? Aside from the scientific evidence, the above points ought to be additional reasons in favor of the idea that there is no link between thimerosal and autism. It's ludicrous to think there is one. But then, there are still people who believe the earth is flat. Administrator

It has been removed from formulations starting in 1999. The government did give manufactures the ability to use up their supply. There was no recall. Parents could ask for Thimerosal free shots(if they were aware of the issue) In certain places it was still being used in 2004, by now there isn't a drop. Thimerosal was in contact lense solution (removed years ago) Still in Tuna, many things are in our air and water. Lead poisioning will cause the same issues, and lead removal still happens. My daughter has a friend that was exposed to creaso (I spelled phonetically) The stuff that used to be painted on railroad ties. The point is our environment has many access points. It can even be exposure of grandparents to toxins that (epigenetics) mutate into heart disease in the grandchild based on genetics. It is a question, but the real questions are, what is best for your child, how to move them beyond societial perceptions, and into independance, guide them with love and responsibility. First question: Why did this alien from outer space decide to only speak to one person and a person who has no clout even in the publishign industry? Second question: Why doesn't the alien from outer space speak with the CDC about these things since they are far more able to separate by way of identification those individuals with Autism from those individuals who are alien/human hybrids? And it wouldn't surprise me that President Bush's daughters are aliens. <smiles> Raven Co-Administrator

Here's some important information. MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) vaccine does not cause autism or inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's). Hepatitis B vaccine does not cause multiple sclerosis (MS) or relapses of pre-existing MS. Pertussis (whooping cough) vaccine does not cause brain damage. Childhood vaccines do not increase the risk of asthma. Vaccines do not cause sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). In Canada, the only routine vaccine for children that contains thimerosal is the hepatitis B vaccine. [end quote] Source: http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/iyh-vsv/med/misconception_e.html Still the numbers are nearly identical in America as they are in Canada wherein the diagnosis of Autism is concerned. If, as you claim, there is still Thimerosal in childhood vaccines in America then how do you explain the nearly identical diagnosis numbers with Canada who does NOT have Thimerosal in childhood vaccines? Regardless, here is my next questions to you since you are so intent on believing that thimerosal and mercury in vaccinations cause Autism in some cases. In America, Thimerosal has been used as a preservative in vaccines and other biologicals since the 1930s. That being the case, why has it taken over two generations before being the cause of Autism? A medical researcher or medical scientist will tell you that it does not take two generations for a chemical to cause changes in the human condition. An extreme example of this is Thalidomide which caused damage in the next generation and then in subsequent generations. Furthermore, Thimerosal is composed of ethyl mercury (EtHg), which is different from the neurotoxic methyl mercury (MeHg). The fact that it is not the neurotoxic form only underscores the reason why it has not caused Autism since the 1930s. As an FYI, EtHg is excreted much more rapidly than MeHg. As for your claim that because a quick search of Google shows that many people believe that Autism is caused by childhood vaccinations, let me point out that a quick search of Google shows that many people that the earth is flat but that does not make the earth flat. It just means a number of people believe it to be so despite overwhelming proof to the contrary. A less quick search of reputable research studies shows repeatedly that Thimerosal and Mercury do NOT cause Autism and in countries like Denmark, Sweden and Canada where Thimerosal and Mercury are NOT used in childhood vaccinations, the incident rates for Autism is in keeping with the Autism rates in countries where Thimerosal and/or Mercury are still used in childhood vaccinations. A great number of individuals with Autism are either marginally employable or unemployeable (due to NT standards) and wind up on some form of government disability. A government is always more interested in the revenues that can be generated by way of taxes and so to poison one's own revenue pool does not make fiscally responsible sense. No, countries the world over would not agree to create and perpetuate a conspiracy that would rob them of sought after future revenue streams. Guest guest
I never really got into model trains, but I do like traveling by train when I can. Unfortunately, the Amtrak line that was most convenient for me to get to my place in Alabama, has been closed since Katrina and probably won't be renewed. That was the Sunset Limited between ville, Florida and either Atmore or Mobile, Alabama. Atmore was closer but it was just a whistlestop with no station. If they didn't have the one cab driver in town, I wouldn't stop there since it is in the middle of no where. I suppose I could have gone to the fire station to wait for my ride (The train got in at like 3 AM). Then again, the Sunset Limited tended to run very late (12 hours was the record while I was on it, though I did get off once and caught a plane because I was on a deadline) and it was an older, double decker style train. The private bedrooms had no toilet facilities, unlike the newer trains, though the more expensive full bedrooms did have one. That meant community toilets that were never clean and usually stank. Now I'll have to travel through Birmingham, which is on the other end of the state and about a 3 hour drive. That also means no Mobile and seeing the USS Alabama (a WWII battleship) or finding a restaurant that serves fried crab claws (actually very tasty). In a message dated 4/16/2008 12:25:12 A.M.
