Guest guest
Hello, My name is Tonya and I'm new to the group. I have a 6yr old son with DS and we are having a lot of eating/drinking issues. We have been to three different ENT doctors and we have inquired about a tongue reduction surgery to help control the tongue better for chewing, swallowing, and sucking. We are also hoping it will help increase speech as well. My son's tongue is overly large both wide and length than most children with DS. We have not talked directly to other parents who have had this done and so we would like to find out more information. When we saw the three doctors they all had different but similar techniqes and we are confused on what is best or what is common. If anyone has any information about tongue reduction please feel free to let us know. Thanks, Tonya
