Guest guest
Hi , Jake has been on valtrex for 2 and a half months, definite improvement in language and cognitively. Diflucan also seems to be helping. Jake just had a pandas flare this week. I was so frustrated because he's been doing so well. It turns out I brought him to the dr and he had a double ear infection. That would explain the outbursts, pee accidents and tics I guess. I do feel that this latest attack was not as extreme as others. He is on omnicef for the infection. I think the antiviral NIDS protocol is helping!!! Jake has high EBV, high HHV6, and high ASO titers. Vicki Subject: ?? about PANDAS protocal & valtrex or augmentin..To: mb12 valtrex Date: Thursday, July 3, 2008, 11:41 AM I had a phone consult with Dr Kovacevic yesterday..He treats PANDAS kids. He had spoken with my Kaiser Dr on how to treat my son. Dr K said my son also needed to take 600mg daily of augmentin for 3 months and then a weekly dose. I did feel that to treat PANDAS it sounds like IVIG & anti-biotics are the key. I asked my Kaiser Dr for augmentin and he said let's wait..So my DAN was talking about a trial of valtrex too and now I am feeling like we have too much going on and what should be tried first? My son did have some high viral ## so maybe valtrex first? I'd like to find out if valtrex helped your kid ....
