We have started on a supplement called ProBio. It creates the

environment necessary in your gut in order to support all 19 species

of beneficial gut flora. You can buy it at www.precisionherbs.com.

It comes in a liquid that doesn't taste bad in juice. Dr. Overman is

the dr that created this supplement. He believes that instead of

TAKING probiotics, you can grow your own if you have the proper

environment for them to flourish.

That is what I am concerned about. THE ENVIRONMENT. For her, I

question whether anything is taking. We did the 20 billion INNATE for

2 months. I thought I saw stuff in the beginning but then ran out and

decided to try something I purchased @ Earthfare. It had 70 billion

per cap. I ended up giving her 2 a day after 3 days. I saw nothing.

Now we are trying VSL3. She is smearing in her panties. I always have

to give her Oxypowder capsules and alot to get her to go 2x a week.

She is severe and finding out that her gut has been like this for 14

years tells me that it may take time.

I am considering a diet change. She has been GF/YF since March. Now

her DAn and Dr. G wants her to do low carb due to HIGH triglycerides.

She only eats 5 foods as it is. I have really stressed out over all

this going on and need to slow down in order to find out what will be

best for her. This one says this on this group....another says that

on another group....I have to think of what is best overall.

Oh, hon...ouch. I am so sorry for all of it - what a nightmare...BUT

I can tell you that the smearing thing is answered in Konstantin's

stuff - that fecal incontinence is due to the insoluble fiber in the

oxypowder...it had the same effect on my duaghter and K said stop

that immediately...but in her case she had not been on it that

long...the smears went awy in two and half weeks - it took that long

though she only took it twice! " Soluble fiber takes a good ling while

to work its way out of a weak or injured intestinal system - that's

why for healing it must be avoided at all costs and in all foods, per

K. So your d is much older and may require fiber supp to move now or

she may be able to use the hydro c and not need to the fiber - K

would know and is likely to answer such a specific question. If a

product is not a match he will not steer you to it - Matt uses only

one of the things he distributes and he told us not to get others

like the intestinal flora bc Matt does not have a gut that requires

it...healing GIs is his passion and he isn;t into selling things

people cannot use. He helped Beth o this list too....to FINALLY pull

apples. Bam rsults within 24 hours - it will be even better for her

and her son once the damage from those apples begins to reverse

itself and her son's gut heals an dcan start getting nutrition on

board again, per him. Removing the ofending items is only the first

step...and the results from positive changes are not always

immediate - the healing, the actual healing, is never immediate with

gut stuff. " Your body desires to heal. Never forget that. "

K has a good friend who is quadrapalegic and has no anorectal

sensitivity and he has helped him with his " issues " so there must be

strategies, even if she is permanently injured in this part of her

physiology. Yes, take her low carb if that is what G advises, it is

what K advocates too, he is almost no carb, personally...but eats and

recs white rice with lots of fat to get fat in for the absorption of

vits and minerals and bc is usually well-liked, well digested, and

satisfies the hunger while the gut is healing. Matt will not eat

rice, if your dd will - good. It is his am recommendation. No snacks

so she isn;t digesting all day. Lunch - rice again, and dinner

protein for heling and rebuilding while she sleeps - this is the best

time for someone who is sick like our kids to do their digesting.

Supplement for nutirtion for now, per him.

Get The Fiber Menace book and read the protocols for easing the

stress of transition to a very low carb and no carb lifestyle as

these are the same things that will work to restore your dd gut from

its injuries- it explains how and what to do. It takes 2-3 days for

stools to form and if she is on a low density liet - all explained in

the book - there will no longer be all the fiber creating the bulk of

what she passes and leaving some unpassed to further injure her gut

and make it an inhospitable place for the good bacteria to grow and

colonize - fiber that is undigested in a weak gut disrupts the

absorption of nutrition as well as the proper colonization by good

bacteria. Stools are almost 75% dead bacteria in healthy guts - our

kids do not have robust flora and you are not going to see those

stools for a long time, if ever. Oxypowder is really milk of mylanta -

just $$ per K, with a couple of useless but fancy sounding

ingredients so they can charge a bunch...it is really a trick having

nothing to do with oxygen at all - just old fashioned soluble fiber

and ingredients that work like a laxative...better to give magnesium

or milk of magneium, much cheaper, exact same effect...but magnesium

should not be given for extended periods of time - also could be why

you cannot colonize her...we are using his hydro c right now with

Matt and I use it on myself and I have been able to go very low carb

without constipation or creating an IBS type dilemma for myself. It

is not a laxative and it is not a fiber supp...it is what people like

his friend who are permanently injured can use safely and others like

those with diabetic nerve damage and others with damage from fiber

supps creating the need to just use more and more of such

things...which is BAD bc she cannot get nutrition right now, the

fiber in the oxypowder hurts, and other fiber supps like psylium

REALLY HURT and injure the guts and anuses of those who use

them....he lays down the whole medical school and fiber as a rec

treatment strategy for constipation and IBS etc in his book - this is

all recent and bad medicine...and reallly bad for OUR kids, per K.

Your dd cannot heal her gut to begin producing the b and k vits again

if you continue giving soluble fiber, more and more of it...as for a

limited diet, K is on one of the most limited I have ever heard of

and by choice...limit it to GOOD for her things and he will tell you,

great, much better for healing...he eats lamb at dinner, hardly any

vegetables whatsoever bc of his own gut injuries and he gets his vits

and minerals from meat and fat - odd to our generation , but

absolutely commonplace in previous ones esp in Russia and other

places wehre weather conditions forced this lifestyle...nobody muches

oranges in the Ukraine in December - or did, and people there live

into their hundreds, stong and healthy for their ages. Stan's kid did

great on the Paleo diet - probably bc he did NOT have a bunch of

undigested fiber from veggies mucking things up - only useful to

healthy guts that can greak it down into useable nutrition, not good

for our kids...I stopped green beans and broccoli for now and Matt's

stools improved, inflamation reduced - go figure! Some white rice

with lots of raw butter, an omelet now and then...that's what he eats

and all his info about whjat he calls ageless nutrition is covered on

his site. In many places like Sardinia or Soviet Georgia diets are

very limited and people live into their 100s - healthy....there is SO

much misinformation about diet, nutrition and how our guts really

work. He likes Pro Stat 64, but we have not used it for Matt

yet..which annoys him bc he thinks we should be addressing the low

muscle tone now as it is not a sign of autism, but of acute

malnutrition and malabsorption....there is hope for your daughter as

you learn more about that specific part of her body and how it

functions...even if she needs hydro c bc of illness or injury for the

rest of her life she will not be on harmful laxatives or damaging

fiber - and she will start to absorb the nutrition in the foods you

feed...flora WILL be able to colonize, though not right away, but it

will - she is alive and her body wants to heal. K wants Matt on rice

cakes - he would prefer rice actually, white, with lots of good fat

on it...if butter is out on G's protocol you could perhaps use garlic

and olive oil and a bit of sea salt to make it yummy...no bread even

though G allows bc K says stay away from gluten in all forms for now

and casein as well until the flora is there to deal with the casein

so as to avoid fermentation - her gut isn't leaky, its sterile most

likely. He says ghee could work though - and he much prefers butter

fat to olive oil bc butter has the highest concentration of water

soluble vit a and d - more than CLO in fact. make the last meal of

her day the protein one...lamb meatballs, chicken, beef if she will

eat it - ground will be easier to digest than a steak of

course... " use some common sense " he says...the protein at night so

that it is there for healing and rebuilding and not interfereing with

learning and activity during the day - don;t distract her with

digestion during the day...probiotics on an ampty stomache in the am

after Hydro c in any liquid...and you also may be trying the

oxypodwetr before theri si really anything to move - 2-3 days to form

stools esp after using something like any of these things to liquify

impacted ones and move them out.

Between G's antiviral therapy for her brain and other viral affected

organs and K's help with her gut and bowels...you have every reason

to hope, mom. She is alive and her body wants to heal itself...so

stoip feeding her anything " healthy " she cannot digest, per him...we

yanked apples and it DID make a big difference...they do not feed the

yeast, but Matt has an injured and inflammed gut and the pectin in

them was extremely irritating to the villi in his small

intestine...it is not healthy or needed if it is not digested and

assisting her in her recovery...best thing you can do is esy to

digest brk pro stat 64 and protein meal at night, try the anorectal

recovery program - or simply wait on that - some people and he

explains who cannot recover their ability to go without assistance bc

of injuries and nerve damage and he is one of those people die to an

illness, so he understands and also understands why those people

especially CANNOT do fiber long term and create other woes for

themselves like innaproriate weight gain, increasing malabsorption

issues requiring more and more supplementation over the years...he

believes in som supps, but not megadoisn and nothing manufactured in

places like china and sold over the counter in most stores bc of

quality control etc....his site, FIber Menace, and his book by the

same name will help you turn arund MANY things in your daughter...I

read stories on the SCD site about parents of much oler very affected

kids who were helped enormously by that diet strategy..this very

simplified one 2 to three meals a day, no snacks until healing bc you

do not want to set the body's peristaltic ations in motion making

these kids zombies bc they are really just little digesting machines

24/7...all his stuff will start to put importatn pieces of your d's

puzzle together. I wihs you luck and your daughter and full

recovery - why not? This is illness that we are looking at, not

autism, and you have a good doctor and now help on the gut front

too...it is going to get better...it is going to take at least three

to six months or longer to really reverse the gut damage and see

things start to turn around. THe body desires to heal itself, enable

it, mom. Di
