My 10 yr old has had PANDAS for 17 months with no relief in site! My

DAN! Dr suggested this may be really helpful and could really help with

treatment esp if it shows brain inflammation. I am at my wits end..my

son has had 2 IVIG's and he seems to get worse to me all the time! His

concentration and retention are horrible. Have anyother parents done

this???

We recently did 3D SPECT scans on our twins. Just got the report a

few days ago but it does offer some better understanding of problems

with blood flow in the brain (primarily in temporal lobes which

happens to be where most of the EEG abnormalities show up). Cost was

$2500 each including anesthesiologist's fee. I may not have done it

if not covered by insurance but it was preauthorized and we did it in-

network at Santa Imaging (Dr. Uszler).

Our reports do not refer to inflammation, although I suspect that is

was is decreasing flow within the temporal lobes.

Read the attached. It provides one reason for obtaining an MRI:

Thanks for the comments! My son has had 2 MRI's this year that came

back normal..MRI's cannot be relied upon to show brain inflammation.

I appreciate all the help with this...
